Databases

In addition to providing online access to a variety of shopping center and retail information, USRetailCenters.com licenses its databases to businesses that need to use the data in their own applications or who serve as resellers. Databases available for licensing include:

THE U.S. SHOPPING CENTER DATABASE This is the complete database of United States Shopping centers. It contains approximately 60,000 centers including centers for major big-box retailers. Center information includes name, address, center type, square feet and date opened. Additional data is available in many cases on center retailers and the center plans but this information is not included in our general data license agreements at this time.

THE U.S. SHOPPOINT DATABASE OF RETAIL ACTIVITY AREAS The ShopPoint Database of Retail Areas consists of approximately 750,000 retail activity areas, most of which do NOT include large shopping centers. We estimate that 80% of retail activity in the United States takes place in the smaller centers and clusters or strips of retailers that are part of the ShopPoint database. Information includes the ShopPoint area ID, a street address near the center of the retail activity area, latitude and longitude coordinates, the number of retailers in the area and shopping centers (if any) in the area. A detailed list of all retailers in each area is also available with a separate license from Experian.

THE U.S. RETAILER DATABASE The Retailer Database consists of information on the approximately 3,000 largest chain retailers in the United States. These data include the addresses and latitude/longitude coordinates for all of the retailer’s locations. The current database consists of approximately 650,000 retail locations. By July of 2008 it will expand to include the largest 5,000 US retailers.

THE SYNERGY DATABASE The Synergy Database consists of Synergy Scores for 20 retail categories for each of the 60,000 Shopping Centers and 750,000 Retail Activity Areas in the United States. These data allow you to evaluate the fit between most types of retail concepts and essentially any potential shopping area in the country.

THE MOSAIC LIFESTYLE DATABASE The Mosaic Lifestyle Database contains a description of the people living in the trade area around each of the 60,000 shopping centers and 750,000 retail areas. It can be used to quickly evaluate and describe the major lifestyle categories that will influence shopping in any of these areas.
