WHAT ARE "RETAIL AREAS" AND HOW DO I USE THIS OPTION TO SELECT CENTERS?

Market planning often takes place in the context of specific retail neighborhoods, often around shopping centers, rather than in the centers. This is because roughly 80% of retailers are based "near" centers, not physically "in" the centers. Our definition of A RETAIL AREA is that it is any neighborhood-sized area where developers, brokers or retailers might be interested in planning future developments or evaluating existing locations or centers for current sale or lease.

Our RETAIL AREA tools allow you to select a market, zoom to an area of that market and then select specific retail neighborhoods for evaluation, much as you would evaluate a center. You can also select a center using these tools by zooming to any area then clicking on centers of interest to see details.
