We recommend a two-step approach. Let's assume you are a shoe retailer, as an example.
- Begin at the market level by using the screening tools to find the retail areas that have the strongest trade areas for your style of shoes. Use the market screening tools to find customers that fit the brands similar to your concept or lifestyles likely to use your concept. (Please see the help section for "market screening" to get additional detail on this process.)
- The market map that appears will help you quickly evaluate the retail zones that have the most potential. If some of the locations you are considering are in a "high potential" retail zone, that is a good reason to take the next step and evaluate these locations in more detail.
-
The second step in this process involves looking in detail at each location. Find the location using the instructions above for finding/evaluation retail property. Select "see reports" and the available reports will pop up. Now select the reports that you interesting in using. For most retail property we recommend a package that consists of:
- A demographic report
- A brand report (for the retail category that best fits your concept)
- A Lifestyle report
- A Retail Synergy report
- With this information in hand, you are ready to compare locations and select the best one!
